N\u00e4iden sairauksien kuntoutuksessa fysioterapialla on merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4 rooli. Aihealueen oppimisesta on kuitenkin v\u00e4h\u00e4n opiskelijoiden kokemuksia kartoittavia tutkimuksia. T\u00e4m\u00e4n pro gradu -tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, millaisia kokemuksia fysioterapeuttiopiskelijoilla on liittyen tuki- ja liikuntaelimist\u00f6n fysioterapian opintokokonaisuuksien oppimiseen.\n\nTutkielma toteutettiin laadullisena tutkimuksena noudattaen tulkitsevaa fenomenologista metodologiaa. Tutkielman aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin puolistrukturoiduilla haastatteluilla nelj\u00e4lt\u00e4 fysioterapeuttiopiskelijalta. Haastattelut toteutettiin et\u00e4n\u00e4 syksyll\u00e4 2024 k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en Zoom-ohjelmistoa. Aineisto litteroitiin haastatteluiden j\u00e4lkeen ja analysoitiin noudattamalla tulkitsevan fenomenologisen analyysimenetelm\u00e4n (Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis, IPA) mukaisia toimintatapoja.\n\nTutkielman analyysin tuloksena tunnistettiin kolme jaettua kokemusteemaa (group experiential themes, GETs): opiskelijoiden kokemukset oppimista est\u00e4vist\u00e4 ja mahdollistavista tekij\u00f6ist\u00e4 opintojaksojen toteutuksessa, kokemukset opettajan toiminnasta t\u00e4rke\u00e4n\u00e4 osana oppimisprosesseja, sek\u00e4 kokemukset ty\u00f6el\u00e4m\u00e4n yhteisty\u00f6tahojen merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4st\u00e4 roolista oppimisessa. Opiskelijat kokevat haasteita omaksua laajaa tietom\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4\u00e4, joka aiheen opiskeluun liittyy. Opetus koetaan etenev\u00e4n nopealla tahdilla ja opiskelijat kaipaisivat enemm\u00e4n yksil\u00f6llist\u00e4 ohjausta ja palautetta opettajilta. Opiskeluryhmien koko n\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytyi oppimisen kannalta ongelmallisena. Osa opiskelijoista koki, ett\u00e4 opiskelijoiden ja opettajien v\u00e4lisess\u00e4 arvostuksessa ja kommunikaatiossa saattaa olla ongelmia, jotka vaikeuttavat oppimista. Ty\u00f6harjoittelut koetaan oppimisen kannalta t\u00e4rkein\u00e4, mutta kokemuksissa ilmeni, ett\u00e4 niiss\u00e4 kohdataan my\u00f6s oppimisen kannalta haitallisia ilmi\u00f6it\u00e4. Opiskelijat olivat kohdanneet haasteita l\u00f6yt\u00e4\u00e4 sopivia ty\u00f6harjoittelupaikkoja ja heill\u00e4 oli kokemuksia ty\u00f6harjoitteluita ohjanneiden fysioterapeuttien ep\u00e4sopivasta kommunikaatiosta.\n\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkielman tulokset lis\u00e4\u00e4v\u00e4t ymm\u00e4rryst\u00e4 tuki- ja liikuntaelimist\u00f6n fysioterapian opiskelusta. Tuloksia voidaan hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 koulutuksen kehitt\u00e4misess\u00e4 Suomessa. Physiotherapy has a significant role in the rehabilitation of these disorders. There is a gap in the research literature regarding physiotherapy students\u2019 learning experiences of this subject matter. The purpose of this master\u2019s thesis was to research physiotherapy students\u2019 experiences about learning musculoskeletal physiotherapy.\n\nThe thesis was done as a qualitative study using interpretive phenomenological methodology. The data was collected from four physiotherapy students using semi-structured interviews. The interviews were conducted online using Zoom software during the autumn of 2024. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed using the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) method.\n\nThe results revealed three group experiential themes (GETs): students\u2019 experiences about the factors that hinder and enable learning in the implementation of study modules, experiences about the teacher's role as an important part of learning processes and experiences about the important role of workplace collaborators in supporting learning. Students experience difficulties assimilating the vast amount of knowledge regarding musculoskeletal rehabilitation. The teaching is experienced as fast paced, and students would like to have more individual guidance and feedback from teachers. The size of the student groups seems to hinder learning. Some students had experiences with issues in the mutual respect and communication between students and teachers that negatively impacted learning. Internship is seen as a valuable for learning, but students experienced problems that could negatively affect learning. Students experienced difficulties finding suitable internship opportunities and had encountered inappropriate communication from the physiotherapists that served as their clinical educators.\n\nThe results of this thesis add to the understanding of how musculoskeletal physiotherapy is learned. The results can be used to improve physiotherapy education in Finland.
