The thesis aims to answer what roles emerge for AI in this collaboration and what factors hinder and enhance it. The research was conducted as semi-structured interviews with a predefined question structure, where five creatives were interviewed about their creative processes with AI: a song, sonnet, video, print, and a marketing plan. The results indicated that AI's role differed based on both the extent of human-AI collaboration and the user's AI expertise. Four different roles were identified: Passive tool as hinderer, Active tool as hinderer, Active collaborator as enhancer, and Passive collaborator as enhancer. Inspiration, speed, and cost proved to be major enhancers. However, ethical concerns like intellectual property and misinformation hindered collaboration, fueling resistance towards AI. Interestingly, the perceived loss of control acted as both a positive for imaginative content but negative for precision. Creatives\u2019 needs must be taken into account in the design of systems to ensure user engagement, and AI providers need to address the worries of training data and misinformation. This research deepens understanding of creative human-AI collaboration, focusing on creative workers\u2019 needs. Looking into enhancements promotes innovation, and hindering factors highlight challenges in integrating AI into creative fields.
