| Yhteenveto: | The Traittie de Conseil by Guillaume Fillastre is a text of ethical instruction for rulers forming part of the second volume of his Histoire de la Toison d'or (a history of the Order of the Golden Fleece). This critical edition of the Traittie de Conseil, the first of any French text of Fillastre's, provides a brief biography and describes the historical situation and the status of the text in relation to the Histoire de la Toison d'or. Special attention is paid to Fillastre's sources, and in particular to didactic literature of ethical instruction. A detailed description, with illustrations, of the extant manuscripts and of one early printing is followed by their classification. The edition is based on the exemplar dedicated to Charles the Bold. A commentary, a study of the language of the manuscript, an extensive glossary and an index of names conclude the study.
