Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences, University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4, Master\u2019s thesis in Sport Pedagogy, 40 pp., 8 appendices.\n\nThe purpose of this Master\u2019s thesis was to investigate what kind of meaningful experiences the use of an external physical education teacher produced for early childhood education personnel. The primary focus was to determine what kind of support an external physical education teacher could provide for early childhood education and what early childhood education personnel consider important in early childhood sport. \n\nThis thesis is a qualitative research in which phenomenological hermeneutic approach was used with experiences of meaning being the core of the study. The material was collected by of six thematic interviews, in which one worked as a daycare center director, two as an early childhood education teacher, and three as an early childhood education nanny. The interviews were done using Microsoft Teams. Seven informants responded to the cover letter sent at the beginning of the study. The collected data was analyzed according to the principles of theory-based content analysis. \n\nThe results of the study revealed that using an external physical education teacher was a positive, refreshing experience, which is needed more in the everyday life of early childhood education. Using an external physical education teacher brings versatility, through which children are inspired to try new sports and even find a hobby. The need for early childhood education staff to get new practical ideas and tips could be achieved with the help of an external physical education teacher. An external physical education teacher brings new depth to physical education. By utilizing the core competence of an external physical education teacher and early childhood education staff, children in early childhood education are best supported, freeing up resources for staff to observe, help and survey children`s motor skills. Tutkielmassa haluttiin selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 millaista tukea ulkopuolinen liikuntakasvattaja voisi tuottaa varhaiskasvatuksen liikuntakasvatukseen ja mit\u00e4 varhaiskasvatuksen henkil\u00f6st\u00f6 pit\u00e4\u00e4 t\u00e4rke\u00e4n\u00e4 varhaiskasvatuksen liikuntakasvatuksessa.\n\nTutkimus toteutettiin laadullisena tutkimuksena fenomenologis-hermeneuttista tutkimusotetta hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4en merkityskokemusten ollessa tutkimuksen ydinosaa. Tutkimuksen aineisto koostui kuudesta teemahaastattelusta. Haastateltavista yksi toimi p\u00e4iv\u00e4kodin johtajana, kaksi varhaiskasvatuksen opettajana ja kolme varhaiskasvatuksen lastenhoitajana. Haastattelut toteutettiin Microsoft Teams \u2013viestint\u00e4alustan tallentavalla et\u00e4videoyhteydell\u00e4. Tutkimuksen alussa l\u00e4hetettyyn saatekirjeeseen vastasi seitsem\u00e4n informanttia. Aineiston analyysi toteutettiin teorial\u00e4ht\u00f6isen sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysin periaatteiden mukaan.\n\nTutkielman tuloksissa selvisi, ett\u00e4 ulkopuolisen liikuntakasvattajan k\u00e4ytt\u00f6 oli positiivinen, pirist\u00e4v\u00e4 kokemus, joita kaivataan enemm\u00e4n varhaiskasvatuksen arkeen. Ulkopuolisen liikuntakasvattajan k\u00e4ytt\u00f6 tuo monipuolisuutta, sen kautta lapsia innostetaan uusiin lajikokeiluihin ja jopa l\u00f6yt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n harrastus. Varhaiskasvatuksen henkil\u00f6st\u00f6n tarpeeseen saada uusia k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n ideoita ja vinkkej\u00e4 ulkopuolisen liikuntakasvattajan avulla voitaisiin vastata. Ulkopuolinen liikuntakasvattaja tuo uutta syvyytt\u00e4 liikuntakasvatukseen. Hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 ulkopuolisen liikuntakasvattajan sek\u00e4 varhaiskasvatuksen henkil\u00f6st\u00f6n ydinosaamista tuetaan varhaiskasvatuksessa olevia lapsia parhaiten, vapauttaen henkil\u00f6st\u00f6lle resurssia havainnoida, tarkkailla, olla apuna ja arvioida lasten motorisia taitoja.
