Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, miten sotatraumat ja niist\u00e4 johtuvat emotionaaliset, psyykkiset ja fyysiset vaikutukset heijastuvat varhaiskasvatukseen, sek\u00e4 miten opettajat ovat n\u00e4it\u00e4 tukeneet. Aihe on ajankohtainen, sill\u00e4 Suomessa on kasvava m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 sotaa paenneita lapsia, joiden tausta vaikuttaa varhaiskasvatuksen k\u00e4yt\u00e4nt\u00f6ihin ja pedagogisiin ratkaisuihin. Tutkimus toteutettiin laadullisena tutkimuksena, jossa k\u00e4ytettiin puolistrukturoituja haastatteluja varhaiskasvatuksen opettajille. Aineiston analyysiss\u00e4 sovellettiin sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysi\u00e4, jossa tunnistettiin t\u00e4rkeimm\u00e4t teemat ja haasteet, joita trauma tai traumaattinen kriisi ja niist\u00e4 johtuvat vaikutukset tuovat varhaiskasvatuksen arkeen. Tulosten mukaan sotaa paenneiden lasten traumat n\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytyiv\u00e4t erityisesti k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen- ja keskittymisen haasteina, sek\u00e4 emotionaalisina kuormitustekij\u00f6in\u00e4. Varhaiskasvatuksen opettajat kokivat tarvitsevansa lis\u00e4\u00e4 koulutusta ja tukea, jotta he pystyv\u00e4t tarjoamaan lapsille asianmukaista tukea. Lis\u00e4ksi on t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 kehitt\u00e4\u00e4 varhaiskasvatuksen k\u00e4yt\u00e4nt\u00f6j\u00e4, jotka tukevat lasten resilienssin kehittymist\u00e4. The aim of the study was to investigate how war-related trauma and its emotional, psychological, and physical effects are reflected in early education settings, as well as how teachers have supported children affected by such experiences. The topic is timely, as there is a growing number of children in Finland who have fled from war zones, and their backgrounds influence educational practices and pedagogical decisions in early childhood education.\n\nThe study was conducted as a qualitative research project using semi-structured interviews with early childhood education teachers. The data was analyzed through content analysis, identifying key themes and challenges that trauma or traumatic crises and their consequences bring into the everyday practices of early education.\n\nAccording to the findings, the traumas of children who fled the war were particularly evident in behavioral and concentration difficulties, as well as in emotional strain. The teachers expressed a need for more training and support to be able to provide appropriate care for these children. Additionally, it is essential to develop practices within early childhood education that promote the development of children's resilience.
