Vieraiden kielten osaaminen on entist\u00e4 t\u00e4rke\u00e4mp\u00e4\u00e4 ja sit\u00e4 arvostetaan suuresti. Lukivaikeuden omaaville opiskelijoille vieraiden kielten oppimisprosessi on kuitenkin erityisen haastavaa, koska he j\u00e4\u00e4v\u00e4t usein ilman tukea, mik\u00e4 johtaa heikompaan itsetuntoon ja oppijaidentiteettiin. Huolimatta min\u00e4k\u00e4sityksen ratkaisevasta roolista motivaatiossa ja koulumenestyksess\u00e4, dysleksisten kieltenopiskelijoiden min\u00e4k\u00e4sitykseen liittyv\u00e4 tutkimus on edelleen rajallista. Heid\u00e4n kokemustensa ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4minen on v\u00e4ltt\u00e4m\u00e4t\u00f6nt\u00e4 tuen parantamiseksi kouluissa. \n\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkielman tavoitteena oli tutkia suomalaisten dysleksisten yliopisto-opiskelijoiden min\u00e4k\u00e4sityksi\u00e4 kielen oppijoina ja min\u00e4k\u00e4sitysten vaikutusta motivaatioon oppia kieli\u00e4. Tutkielmassa haastateltiin kolmea suomalaista yliopisto-opiskelijaa, joilla oli todettu aiemmin lukivaikeus. Opiskelijat olivat my\u00f6s ottaneet osaa pakollisten kieliopintojen lis\u00e4ksi vapaaehtoisiin vieraiden kielten opintoihin. Haastattelut tallennettiin ja litteroitiin. Data analysoitiin k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 temaattista sis\u00e4ll\u00f6n analyysia. Vastaajat kertoivat heid\u00e4n min\u00e4k\u00e4sityksiins\u00e4 kielen oppijoina vaikuttaneen eniten diagnoosin saaminen, tuki koulussa ja sen puute sek\u00e4 itsens\u00e4 vertailu muihin. \n\nTutkimuksen tulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 monet tekij\u00e4t ovat vaikuttaneet opiskelijoiden min\u00e4k\u00e4sityksiin kielen oppijoina. Vastaajat kertoivat, ett\u00e4 heid\u00e4n min\u00e4k\u00e4sityksens\u00e4 k\u00e4rsiv\u00e4t vieraan kielen opetuksen alettua, mutta kehittyiv\u00e4t positiivisempaan suuntaan my\u00f6hemmin. Suurin vaikutus min\u00e4k\u00e4sitykseen oli lukivaikeusdiagnoosin saaminen, joka auttoi vastaajia ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n omia vaikeuksiaan kielten opiskeluun liittyen. Heid\u00e4n kielenoppimismotivaationsa k\u00e4rsiv\u00e4t my\u00f6s kohtalaisesti kieliopintojen vaikeudesta ja omien kykyjen ep\u00e4ilemisest\u00e4. Oppimismotivaatiota tehosti, se ett\u00e4 vastaajat arvostivat vieraita kieli\u00e4 paljon ja halusivat panostaa niiden opiskeluun. Suuri merkitys oli my\u00f6s henkil\u00f6kohtaisilla oppimisstrategioilla ja -ty\u00f6kaluilla, jotka sopivat paremmin heid\u00e4n tapoihinsa oppia. Tutkielman tulokset osoittavat my\u00f6s, ett\u00e4 dysleksiset opiskelijat kokevat tarvitsevansa enemm\u00e4n tukea vieraiden kielten opetuksessa.
