Tutkimukseen osallistui 78 suomea puhuvaa lasta, jotka jaettiin ty\u00f6muistisuoriutumisen perusteella heikkoihin ja \nvahvoihin kahdella tavalla. Ryhm\u00e4jakojen perusteena k\u00e4ytettiin seuraavia teht\u00e4vi\u00e4: 1) numerosarjat eteenp\u00e4in, joka vaatii muuttumattoman tiedon lyhytkestoista muistamista ja siten v\u00e4hemm\u00e4n ty\u00f6muistiprosessointia 2) numerosarjat taaksep\u00e4in, joka vaatii lukujen k\u00e4\u00e4nteiseen \nj\u00e4rjestykseen muokkaamisen vuoksi enemm\u00e4n ty\u00f6muistiprosessointia. N\u00e4ill\u00e4 kahdella tavalla \nmuodostettuja ryhmi\u00e4 vertailtiin kesken\u00e4\u00e4n yhteenlaskusujuvuudessa, lukujonotaidoissa ja \npienten lukum\u00e4\u00e4rien nopeassa tunnistamisessa ja nime\u00e4misess\u00e4. Lis\u00e4ksi vertailtiin eri ryhm\u00e4jaoilla saatuja tuloksia. Tulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 ty\u00f6muistilla ei ollut selke\u00e4\u00e4 yhteytt\u00e4 yhteenlaskusujuvuuteen. Sen sijaan tutkimuksessa l\u00f6ytyi ty\u00f6muistin yhteys lukujonotaitoihin sek\u00e4 pienten lukum\u00e4\u00e4rien nopeaan tunnistamiseen ja nime\u00e4miseen, mutta vain silloin, kun ryhm\u00e4jaon perusteena oli ty\u00f6muistiprosessoinniltaan vaativampi teht\u00e4v\u00e4. The \nstudy involved 78 Finnish-speaking children, who were divided into weak and strong working \nmemory groups in two ways based on the following tasks: 1) forward digit span, which requires \nshort-term memory for static information and thus less working memory processing 2) backward digit span, which involves manipulating numbers into reverse order and therefore demands more working memory processing. The groups formed by these two methods were compared in terms of addition fluency, number sequence skills, and rapid identification and naming \nof small quantities. Additionally, the results obtained with different grouping methods were \ncompared. The results showed no clear connection between working memory and addition fluency. However, a connection to number sequence skills and the rapid identification and naming \nof small quantities was found, but only when the grouping was based on the more demanding \nworking memory processing task.
